Bespoke Garden Office, Berkshire

A freelancing couple needed a garden room to use as a home office.

When you work from home, separating your personal and professional life can be a pretty tall task - but it doesn’t have to be. A garden office acts as a home away from home; close to the main body of the house so you don’t have to worry about the rest of the family and are able to check on them with ease, but far enough away to immerse yourself in your work without diversion. It’s the perfect solution.

Client Brief

We were asked to create a calm, fit-for-purpose workspace. Having just started a family, the working couple knew that remaining inside the main body of the house would lay them open to all sorts of distractions and interruptions - so required an exterior setting in which to execute their professional duties. The office room needed to be spacious, convenient and hold plenty of room for storage to contain all of their utensils comfortably.

Our Solution

We created a large timber space at the end of their garden, perfectly blending into their rural surrounds without obstructing their space. We fortified it securely so that it’d stand strong against the elements and included special features such as tanalised decking and wooden venetian blinds - gorgeous touches that breathed personality and warmth into the finished build.
