Orchards School’s dance, drama and music studio.
Ref: ED24Orchards School, based in West Sussex, has exceptional strengths in sport and music/drama productions. They wanted a building that would reflect that ethos and serve as a great practical, hands-on space to encourage creative learning. We set out to create a beautiful space that would sit comfortably in the school’s surrounds while addressing all their functional needs, helping their array of practical lessons to thrive!
We were asked to create an inspirational, flexible space that would allow pupils to celebrate their performative strengths in dance, drama and music, doubling-up as a great practice space throughout the day to improve upon their existing skills. Key factors were bright, large areas that would allow for a range of activities with spaces to store gear, as well as appropriate toilet facilities so pupils would not have to journey back to the main body of the school mid-session.
Using our Complete Care Package and planning the entire build from start to finish, we built a teaching space accommodating all the school’s needs, including a very spacious studio where a number of pupils could practice dance, drama and music simultaneously. We surrounded the building with attractive purple slate and garden boxes, too, to create a beautiful entranceway that looks lovely in Orchards School’s pretty grounds.
The quality of the building has been matched by the quality of performance by our children - inspirational surroundings… inspirational outcomes.
