The Journey

We want your journey from initial contact through to owning your premium timber outbuilding to be as easy and seamless as possible. That is why, here at The Stable Company, we have created 3 simple steps to guide you through how we like to work with our customers to achieve the best results.

  • Getting the idea right is a very important stage of the journey.  If you know what you want, thats great, but if you need some inspiration, use our case studies or our pre-drawn designs to get you started.  Don't worry if you can't find exactly what you want, we can adapt any idea to suit your needs.  Once you have your idea, get in touch with us so that we can discuss your ideas in detail, offer feedback and make suggestions for the specification before finally producing an initial proposal.  Any proposal we provide your will contain a written quote, sketch design and detailed specifications.

If our initial proposal to you is acceptable, then we will be happy to undertake a site visit.  This will help you to get to know us a little better and for us to: survey the site; discuss the requirement for permissions that may be required to erect the building; review the specification in conjunction with material samples; check site access for delivery.  We will follow up this site visit with our final proposal, a 3D CAD drawing to help you visualise the final design and of course the final detailed specification.

Don't just take out word for it!  You may wish to see the quality of our buildings for yourself and talk to the owners - our past customers.  Over the years we have built up a large portfolio of reference sites and it is very likely we will have a building local to you that we can arrange for you to visit.  Please contact us for more information.

  • There may be various permissions that you will require for your new building.  Planning permission and building control are the main two that you need to think about.  Should this be the case we offer our clients the use of our planning service or our building control service. For our planning service, we can simply provide you with drawings for your own submission to the appropriate planning authority, or alternatively, a full service, whereby we submit the plans on your behalf and manage the entire process for you.  For further information on our planning permission, and also our building regulations services, visit our services page to find out more.

After your permissions are approved then is the time to place your order with us.  Any deposit payment received is insured through our deposit protection scheme.   Before we begin to manufacture, we ask that a final set of drawings are signed off to ensure that we have completely understood your requirements and to capture anylast minute changes.  Once received, we can agree an installation date and we will begin the manufacture of your building at our workshop in York.  Any drawings that you require to prepare for our arrival are also issued at this point.

Within four to six weeks of your order, our installation team will arrive on site to erect your building.  Working productively and courteously at all times, our team carries out a multi point quality checklist throughout the installation to ensure that the building is to the highest standards.  You will be given the courtesy of inspecting the building prior to the team leaving the site to ensure also that you are completely satisfied with the results.

  • In the weeks following installation, as you begin to use and get to know your new building, we will contact you to ensure that you are completely satisfied. Any snagging items that may arise will be promptly addressed with a return visit from our installation team.

We stand by the quality of our timber buildings and offer you peace of mind with a 10 year insurance backed guarantee on the exterior envelope.

Our buildings are designed to last a generation and more and we are confident that they will provide you with lasting satisfaction. Many of our customers agree to become a reference site for prospective clients and we hope you will too.
